Nature provides limitless opportunities for developing creativity. Materials provided by nature stimulate our senses and promote an understanding of the workings of nature. Using natural materials for craft activities requires problem solving and creativity; things don't fit together as neatly as Lego blocks, and sticky tape doesn't always work on rocks!
Our sessions can cater for any age and any level of skill. At Vivi naTUra we believe in everyone's ability to be creative and thus, in line with the Forest School principles, the focus is not on the final product but on the process involved in the making. A process based on collaboration, a positive approach to risk taking, perseverance and most of all enjoyment.
Our nature-based craft sessions reflect the rhythms of the cycle of nature and avoid the use of plastic and other human made products that are not useful to the environment. Past nature craft activities include: creating wooden objects using knots and lashes, ice lanterns, seasonal globes, basket weaving, exploring natural dyes, paper lanterns and so much more!
The sessions are led by Sara, an accredited Lead Practitioner Level 3 in Forest School, experienced teacher and trainer, who has led the nature connection curriculum at Lancaster Steiner School, as well as inputting in the local provision of Forest School in Lancaster, UK.
On occasions, other local, national and international practitioners in nature-based crafts will be invited to lead sessions.
